Happy Monday! Today I am sharing my CAS Father’s Day cards. It really highlights the dad’s day set from Lawn Fawn. I wanted to use kraft paper to create that masculine feel.
I created the first card for Steve’s grandpa. I knew I wanted to use the gorgeous washi tape from Freckled Fawn . I makes me think of a well worn chair that my maternal grandfather would sit in, watching TV or reading with his cat and dog. He passed away this winter so this card was in memory of him and I am glad I get to share it with my new grandfather-in-law.
This last card is for my paternal grandfather. He just moved back to the same town as my parents, because of his health. It has been very nice to visit with him and get to know him better. I thought the blue, white, and kraft were a perfect combination. I got the inspiration for this card from the Lawn Fawn site: here.
Thanks for looking!
Happy Memorial Day!
I am participating the Lawn Fawn Operation Write Home Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop. Operation Write Home is a great organization that sends handmade cards to members of our armed services who are deployed. The deployed men and women can then use those cards to send home to their friends and family. If you are interested in participating as well, you should check out their site.
I wanted to create two different cards to be able to send to OWH. One that was a little feminine and one a little masculine.
The first card was inspired by Sketch B-28, which can be found on the bonus sketch link.
For this card I used the bee and phrase from Lawn Fawn gnome sweet gnome stamp and die set. I told you I would make a great card using the super cute bee! 🙂 The embellishments are all from Pick Your Plum, including that beautiful washi tape and the bakers twine.
The next card is for the Midweek Throwdown X 3 challenge. I wanted to create a clean and simple card highlighting red, white, and blue.
I used the Lawn Fawn dad’s day set to create a masculine feel. I also used some of my NEW bakers twine. Remember the picture that I shared last week? Its so soft and and thick. I really love my bakers twin. Can you tell?
I wanted to create cards that could be personalized by the military person receiving them. Each one can be used for any event or holiday. I hope you enjoyed them as well!
Is there a card or theme you would to see me try? Something you’d like to see in my style? Let me know in the comments below, and I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!
I am so excited! This is the first Lawnscaping Challenge I have been a part of (I hope I did everything right). The Lawnscaping Challenge No. 58 is clean and simple. When Lawn Fawn had their release this month I was so excited to see that they added die cuts (lawn cuts) for the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set. I love love love this stamp set. Check it out! The gnome is so stinking cute and I just love the little bees (I will be making a card highlighting those next week).
For the card that I made for this challenge I wanted to use craft paper and simple, bright colors. I wanted to set the scene with beautiful bright flowers from the Gnome Sweet Gnome set, the Mother’s Day set, and critters in the ‘burbs set and of course the cute little birds. How fun are they? I finished it off with the cute Thank You word bubble from the Many Thanks stamp set. Now I have to find the perfect person to Thank!
What’s your style? Simple and clean? Or do you like fully embellished projects?
